Rev. John Hagee: Anti-Catholic, Homophobe & McCain Supporter

From TPMtv: There's been a lot of chatter over the last few days about John McCain's embrace of Pastor John Hagee, who's well-known for a history of anti-Catholicism and claims that God will send terrorists to create a "bloodbath" in America for its support of a two state solution in Israel/Palestine. So what is it exactly that Hagee's said and just how much has McCain cozied up to him? We thought we'd put all the choicest moments into one quick video so you could take a look and make up your own mind.

I never agree with BillOreilly but he's right. It's politics-as-usual. Ron Paul caught some flak a while ago about accepting donations from aryans or some such.

We can talk about the goofy beliefs of Hagee as well as the aryans but they have a right to endorse whomever they wish. It doesn't necessarily mean the candidate shares the beliefs of those who donate to them.

It is a big deal because only a few years ago McCain was the one who lectured us all about the evils of the "agents of intolerance". Now he is embracing them.

And if it were no big deal, why would McCain suddenly repudiate Hagee's remarks today? If it were any other candidate they'd be under the same pressure to disavow this hatemonger.

I watch Hagee in the mornings sometimes because he's so insane. He scares me. He'll talk about how great Israel is, and say things like "The bible is very clear, that Russian is going to supply nuclear weapons to Iran and they will detonate a nuclear bomb on Israel. The Bible is very clear about that".

Completely different than the Ron Paul-aryan bullshit. Stormfront sent Ron Paul money, he didn't get up on stage with them and accept their endorsement like McCain. As appalling as his anti-Catholic statements are, this is just another non-issue that gets zoomed in on instead of a million other things wrong with McCain's platform, which goes for Obama/Rev. Wright as well.

First, all Baptists are anti-catholic.
Second, a homophobe is someone who fears homos. Baptists don't fear homos. They just don't like their lifestyle.
Third, at least he isn't anti-American, anti-white like Wright.

We cannot, under the scrutiny of a free press and public, tell different stories to different audiences, foreign and domestic, friendly and hostile. "John F. Kennedy"

Especially under the microscope of today's internet. I think his straight talk will get him into trouble, or he'll either cave and just give us the same talking points over and over again!
