It's hard to get all choked up about sentimental sap like that when our country, at this very moment, is under the control of a cabal of criminals who - by every indication - are beyond the reach of justice.

A cabal of criminals who are responsible for the deaths of thousands of Americans and hundreds of thousands of Iraqi's.

A cabal of criminals who enjoy and rely upon the blind, jingoistic loyalty of their zealous followers.

This video fills me not with pride, but rather with shame for the hypocrisy of the words given the actions of my nation and its leaders.

let's not forget that the original writer of the Pledge, Francis Bellamy, was an advocate of separation between church and state.
