Also, Tc99m has a short half life so in a few days she'll just have a vial of "normal" concentrated urine.

No gloves for IV injection in Germany eh? Pertechnetate isn't specific for the thyroid, it also goes to kidneys, bladder, parathyroids, salivary glands. Presumably this test was for a thyroid nodule? In the US we would go for an iodine study because it's more specific.
