My guess is that the RNC is working internally to get Steele fired. He's served his purpose, and since the "We've got a black guy too" ploy failed, he's now just in the way.

My guess is they'll eventually say something like "Our irresponsible spending just goes to show that you can't trust the government with your money, so give us your money and we'll put a stop to it!"
