Interview with Naomi Wolf Author of "The End of America"

Fascinating interview with renowned author Naomi Wolf, perhaps best known for her early 1990s feminist classic "The Beauty Myth", considered by many to be one of the most important works of the 20th century.

Wolf discusses her new book "The End of America", already on the New York Times bestseller list. The book identifies ten classic steps common to all dictatorships -- including those of Mussolini, Hitler and Stalin. Alarmingly, Wolf makes the case that each of these ten steps is occurring in post 9/11 America today. The book is a call to action for young and concerned Americans and this interview intimately frames this important discussion.

She explains at about the 33:15 mark how the House Resolution Bill 3835 submitted by Ron Paul would restore power in Congress to remove the Presidential abuses by self-appointment of unconstitutional powers.

She states that the Democrats have signed on to it but they have just begun to get signatures from the Republican side.

Naomi Wolfe visited The Factor to talk about her book, The End of America: Letter of Warning to a Young Patriot. John Kasich, guest host for Bill O'Reilly,11/21/07, nervously interviewed the author and did his best to keep Wolfe from explaining the premise of her book. In fact, Kasich seemed intent on framing Naomi Wolfe as a kook in order to inflame the audience.

As you will see in the video clip, Kasich opens the interview telling Wolfe that she's " way out there" and then continues to interrupt almost every time she tries to respond. He also admitted he only read parts of the book and didn't need to read more. As the interview progresses, Kasich becomes more rattled ending the interview while Wolfe calmly continues talking.

Wow... John Kasich gets loud and interrupts just as bad as Bill O'. It's no wonder he was getting shook up and stopped the interview. He definitely didn't want her to talk about "the lists" that the government keeps on people with dissenting views of the current administration.

I was in the audience for Wolf's talk at Kane Hall on the University of Washington campus. She is clear, rational and completely human. She welcomed interaction with the audience and consistently encouraged every individual to action.

The problem is, and she knows it, we are all far too dependent upon charismatic leaders. Her call to action is to US, not for us to rely on her or any other authority. It's an exciting wake-up call to re-learn or learn for the first time what democracy is all about, and to accept the sovereignty of the citizenry as Jefferson intended. It means being part of the solution and not just begging leaders to save us.

I encourage you, the viewer of this interview, to consider how you might take real action of your own, and do so consistently, as part of your daily life. I'm personally grateful to Wolf for waking me up and making me excited to take an active role in our democracy... "if we can keep it."

Yes, Blackwater already is a big problem, they operate outside of the military code of justice and even though they were caught killing innocent people in Iraq, they have just been awarded another billion in govt. funding for domestic operations.

It seems almost strange how who ever fights this evil in turn gets corrupted by it. Biggest fighters against Germany was Britain, Russia, and America and its interesting to see how each country reacted afterwards
