Making babies with the idea that it's somehow a public service seems wrong to me.
Businesses need to have the opportunity to determine what will result in the best productivity for itself. Hiring a pregnant woman will yield less productivity due to the many issues that go along with being pregnant. Why should the company be required by law to ignore that fact?
Pay should be based on performance, if performance decreases due to a pregnancy so should pay.
