wormwoodsays...My thoughts exactly. At last, somebody says it.
lurgeesays...werd!
braschlosansays...I do not agree with this video. Not everyone "agrees to kill brown strangers for money."
For many people joining the military is a way to escape from the situation they were born into. For example what if my choices were - being unable to go to college and would end up as a gas station attendant OR joining the army and getting some form of technical training?
Not everyone is handed a gun and sent to another country. There are numerous positions that don't involve killing brown people.
It is too easy to say "a lot of military people are assholes" but that is because the nice ones don't go around flaunting their military service.
When you work for a company you do not get a say in the direction that company is going. That is up to the board of directors. Most people wouldn't quit their job just because they don't agree with the direction the company is going. It is the same in the military. You are given a job to do and you try to be the best worker you can be.
Lets say there was a way for these troops to join the military of another country. If they could be a part of the Swiss military (random example) would you still have such negative feelings towards them?
It's so easy for the privileged to look down on these people. Either do something to change our military or go fuck yourself for punishing the little guy.
