Gay in Jerusalem: Collective Journalism

This actually surprises and saddens me. Israel should be ashamed of themselves for this kind of bigotry and homophobia.

Then again, who am I to talk...
Plenty to be ashamed of here in the USA. :(

Jaron Gilinsky covers the controversial gay rights rally in Jerusalem.
qualmsays...

An anecdote: On my first night in Tel Aviv, almost twenty years ago, I was a young backpacker trying to sleep in what turned out to be a gay 'cruising' park. At around one in the morning a screaming squad of a half dozen police-jeeps came storming across the open field with their hi-lamps like that scene from Apocolypse Now. Al about there were men I had not seen running here and there, trying to flee. Long story short, imagine ten very frightened men standing with their hands at their sides in the lamps of the jeeps that are glowering in idle. A vicious boot to the ribs, to each in their turn, and that's all I saw. I got the foxtrot out of there.
