People overplay that so much. Almost no one ever dies.

A lot of significant characters die, and often at times you don't expect.

Off the top of my head, in AGOT: Ned, Drogo, Lady, Viserys, Robert.

*** Season 2 spoilers ***
I feel ACOK was pretty light on significant character deaths: Renly, Yorren, Luwin, Qhorin.

ASOS makes up for it. I can think of 8 major characters that die, though one of them is resurrected in some form. I won't list names.

The constant threat of death is what gives the story its suspense.

Yeah, I think you haven't read the books...

[spoiler]Seriously, people. Stop posting in every video "OH MY GOD EVERYONE DIES." It lessens the impact when it does happen, for the people that are new to the series. I have read the books.[/spoiler]

And use the damn spoiler tag instead of saying the word SPOILER and then the actual spoiler where both can be read at the same time.
