"Corporate America is Using Our Police Depts as Hired Thugs"

Starts from around 2:00 in. I couldn't not submit this, there is too much sense in what he's saying and how can you not respect this man for his stance?

News from the Internet -- FTW

Agreed, mainstream TV news is so disconnected from the real issues. I think back to my childhood, I remember my grandparents thought of the evening 6 o'clock news being the most important half hour of the day. Being spoon fed a variety of fear mongering stories by a model with a serious face and smooth voice the following:

Catchy musical intro...
Rape...
Tsunami expected....
Another rape...
Rugby player caught urinating in public...
Serious issue of the day...
Some breaking news about new bank fees...

ads...

A murder conviction for a famous person's ex-lover..
Corruption in the animal petting zoo society..
Some more rape, and a stabbing in broad daylight...
Stocks are up in Asia, but the FTSE index is down...
Some sports team won something...
It's raining... (thank GOD I watched the news to find that out, instead of looking outside!)

Thank god for the internet.

Thank you so much for sifting this. I think it is perfectly consistent to despise and expose the police brutality that does exist without demonising policemen simply because of the job they have. I just wish we would see more cops standing by the non-violent protesters, but with the economy as it is, it seems like it's pretty easy to blackmail them into obeying orders or even lashing out their frustration on the job.

I think the answer is far simpler.

When kooks are rejected by society, they invent conspiracy theories because they cannot (above all else) ever bring themselves to admit that they are just a bunch of kooks. Far better for them to believe the cops, the mayors, the media, and society at large are involved in some sort of machination to 'keep them down' or 'bury thier message'. Yeah - that makes tons of sense guys. (cuckoo!) A movement with no leader, no message, and populated by a bunch of drug using rioter/rapists is simply 'misunderstood'. :eyeroll:

The comment thread of a video that in part is introducing one of the most principled moral proponents to emerge thus far from the Occupy movement, Captain Ray Lewis, is probably not the best place to attempt to characterize the supporters of said movement as 'rapists, rioters, and kooks without a message."

Oh and the constant repetition of the mantra that Occupy has no coherent message at this point strikes me as disingenuous and a transparent talking point of the anti-Occupy politicians and corporate interests.

It's not that the "conservatives" aren't intelligent enough to be able to see that the underlying issue fueling the Occupy protest is disgust at the disproportionate power that corporate lobbyists and by extension their Wall Street funders have over politics, it's that they think that they can shape reality via the media and as long as they are unified in denying that Occupy has any message at all, their power in the media could quite possibly make this fiction a reality for the millions of Fox viewers who constitute their power base.

The OWS proof is in the pudding. Thier 'rap sheet' is an odious pile of thefts, sexual assaults, property damage, threats against police, and many other things far too numerous to list. Oh - wait - you can...

http://biggovernment.com/jjmnolte/2011/10/28/occupywallstreet-the-rap-sheet-so-far/

OWS had a purpose at one point. As time went on it collapsed into a bunch of hooligans even more crass and vile than the yobs in the UK earlier this year. They are what they are - Cap'n H or not.

And OWS does not have a message. No matter how much you or anyone else may try and protest otherwise, OWS never once articulated a unifying message that they all got behind except "we're the 99%". It is not a disingenous statement to make, because it is uncontested truth. In fact, OWS was quite proud of the fact that they had deliberately avoided putting forward any sort of message.

Not sure why you're trying to deny this. OWS shot itself in the foot in that regard. But it's hard to put forward a unifying message when your 'movement' is comprised of about a thousand different factions.
