Toronto alt-rock station 102.1 the Edge is running a contest to find one of the morning show's co-hosts, Todd, a fiancee.
He spends a week with each contestant, having her live with him. Updates posted on TV and phoned in to the station.
Looks like her family was listening to the updates and decided she's "above what's being portrayed."
Although unspoken, it sounds like contestant Lori's parents pointed out that she can do better than contestant on a reality show. Or something similar.
In the parody channel because of the Y&R tones.
Not specifying what exactly was wrong implies either that she feels uncomfortable explaining what went wrong, or perhaps small things were blown out of proportion. I haven't been paying extremely close attention so I'm not sure which is the case.

Sagemindsays...*Promote because this is the response I would expect from more contestants of reality shows. This girl is waking up and saying, wait a minute, this is wrong, I'm a person and not a commodity.
She is not a hollow tube for the media to pump their brand of entertainment into. I can't stand that aspect of the reality shows where the contestants are just props that can be manipulated... There is so much room here for a rant but I think you get the point.
... and let's face it, the guy wasn't that much of a catch anyway...
siftbotsays...Promoting this video and sending it back into the queue for one more try; last queued - promote requested by Sagemind.
finch451says...No matter how hard you try to imagine yourself in that situation, can you imagine what it takes to have that conversation while holding a camera pointed at the other person?
At some point you have to draw the line between reality and show. If you can comfortably film that conversation, it's not a real conversation.
