Scene from the movie Joyeux Noel. The movie is based on the unofficial and unapproved truce that occurred on Christmas Eve during World War I.

The top brass were not too pleased this occurred and in subsequent years there were orders to shoot anyone that fraternized with the enemy and artillery barrages were ordered to prevent this from occurring again.

I was looking for clips for the the horrific battles of the Somme and Verdun (been reading a lot on WW1), but ran across this and decided to post it.
