I really don't remember this game being that much of a pain in the ass....I'v always considered it to be one of the best games iv ever played.

Actually this was pretty much my reaction to Metal Gear back when it was new. Borrowed the game from a friend for 10 days and got almost nowhere. Half the problem was never being able to enter a password correctly (at that age I didn't know how to write 0 and o differently).
