Amazing RC airplane with HD camera in Brazil, its fpv too.

Collection of my favorites flights in 2010 (and a couple of 2009 scenes), over Northeastern (CearĂ¡) and Southeastern (Rio de Janeiro) gorgeous coast of Brazil.

These images were shot by a micro hi-def camera onboard a small unmanned / radio controlled airplane with live downlink to video glasses, so I can pilot through the cockpit view. This modality is known as FPV (First Person View) or UAV Unmanned Aerial Vehicle).

Various planes and cameras used, but mainly:
- Skywalker/GoPro (Pacoti, P.Dunas, P.Fontes, C.Quebrada)
- Skywalker/Jazz 178 (Cumbuco)
- EasyGlider/Aiptek HD1 (Prainha CE, Prainha RJ, P.Recreio)
- EasyGlider/GumCam (take off, above the clouds)

This video/list illustrates how difficult it is to differentiate a FPV from an UAV nowadays. I consider the Easyglider a FPV gear, since it is a model airplane (hence a miniature of the original plane) with a camera/transmitter adapted to it, while the Skywalker I consider an UAV gear, since it was specifically designed carry the camera/transmitter (hence a vehicle). The latest also features HUD telemetry and autonomous flight capability, used to pilot the plane back to base if there is any problem with control.

I've been to Brazil several times (have family there), and I have been to that particular place. It's got some pretty great beaches (and I'm not even much of a beach guy myself), and that small town they show called Canoa Quebrada has a really lively night life. Lots of little bars and small inns. And it's all pretty affordable.

Fantastic video, its simply breathtaking... Watched it twice so far and shared it to god only knows how many people

I have a question for you though, If I were to do something similar what sort of video downlink, transmitter and glasses should i get? or better still, what are you using in the vid.. Id love to try flying a plane through the cockpit around my beach here..

Thanks in advance Nomino.
