I'm not scared of the road
We should see, must taste
From meander in the hollow of your breast
And there everything will be ok
The wind will carry us

Your message to Ursa Major
And the trajectory of your race
An instant of velvet
Even if it's not useful though
The wind will take it away
Everything will disappear but
The wind will carry us

The caress and the grapeshot
And that wound that tears us appart
The palace of everyday
From yesterday and tomorow
The wind will carry them

The genetic in shoulder-belt
Chromosom in the atmosphere
Taxis for galaxies
And my flying carpet says ?
The wind will take it away
Everything will disappear but
The wind will carry us

This perfume of our dead years
What can knock at your door
Infinity of destinies
We lay some but what do we retain?
The wind will take it away

During the tide rises
And everyone is doing its accounts
I take in the hollow of your shadow
Dusts of you
The wind will carry them
Everything will disappear but
The wind will carry us

"made popular by Nico of Velvet Underground" wtf? I didn't even know that version existed. Jackson Browne's own is my favorite.

yeah, it was made popular through its use in a movie.. The Royal Tenenbaums I think? But same here, I like the original version best. TMOE did a pretty good job here though.

What if David Lynch had directed "Return Of The Jedi"?

In mild defense of David Lynch...
* David Lynch is capable of making non-surreal movies and making them very well.... the Elephant Man, The Straight Story... I'm sure Empire Strikes Back would have been great if he did it.
* Lynch got the DGA to allow him to remove his name from the credits from at least one version of Dune. Parts of the movie weren't so great (Sting) but parts were awesome weren't they? Like the Guild Navigators?
* Dune was on the table to be made before Star Wars. I think it was on a commentary I heard people involved say that Tatooine (Skywalker's desert planet) was basically stolen from Dune because the pre-production illustrations of Dune were seen by the folks who did Star Wars... same company I guess. They showed the illustrations and it was kind of surprising.
* This video would have better if they dubbed over Darth Vader the voice of Dennis Hopper saying "mommy mommy, baby wants to fuck" as he huffs on the nitrous tank from Blue Velvet.

Which begs the question, why are so many PC versions unfinished rush efforts that need to be patched at some point in the future? I'm bitter.

Competition. Very few developers make games for every console system so if you can do well on your one or two systems, you've made profit. However, since there are so many developers for PC games it becomes very difficult to receive recognition and for smaller developers, it just isn't worth the extra costs in development or marketing.

Once a game is developed it costs them ten cents to print another CD and stick it in a box. This is good in that it lowers the barriers to entry into the market (you don't have to pay Nintendo for cartridges to put your game on like you did with the original NES licensing contract, among other things). It's bad in that the market is easily over-saturated.
