Al Franken Calmly Discusses Healthcare With Teabaggers

spoco2 says...

I have great respect for someone who can sop calmly put forward points and reasons like this in the face of those who just don't listen. Those there were being very attentive and it was great to see such civil discourse, but there were times when some just hadn't listened to the POINT he was making with examples. He very calmly handled that, where I'm sure inside he wanted to scream "I JUST TOLD YOU! I JUST ILLUSTRATED A PERFECT EXAMPLE OF HOW THIS WORKS... GOD YOU'RE STUPID.. LISTEN!"

Name: Hannity. Job: professional liar

Jesse Ventura Body Slams Elizabeth Hasselbeck

Nithern says...

I saw we take every conservative and liberal, along with anyone in the middle that thinks waterboarding and 'enhanced interrogation techiques" are not TORTURE, and waterboard 'em for three hours.

Now, anyone who knows this stuff *IS* torture, understands this action is wrong on so many levels. So, we'll have a safety net in place. If these individuals 'tap out', they admit that water boarding is torture. We ask them while they are just laying on the board, sopping water. And when the answer is not "yes", we keep water boarding them.

While we are doing this, to former Bush cabinet members like Mr Cheney, we find out WHO signed off on this, WHO did this, and WHY they thought this wasn't insane.

I doubt any of these people that say water boarding or "enhanced interrogation techniques" *ISNT* torture.

BTW, we make sure Mr. Hannity gets it, but ignores his tap out. After all, FOX 'journalists' should experienced this as those enemy combatants did.

TRN - Betrayed in Iraq

I couldn't agree more with rougy (above). It's SOP. Just ask the Kurds in the north if you want to see how the deal works. And don't worry, some big fat politician will soon be telling you what to do and stealing your oil soon enough...

Peter Schiff Schools Mainstream Econohacks on Great Depr.

Asmo says...

If someone wants to do your shitty job for you for 1/10 the price, you're supposed to enjoy the enormous marketplace of newly-cheap goods, accept that you've been moved up the totem pole, and do something that's actually useful for the economy.
That tends to mean things that require local presence, cultural fluency, or possession of skills that people with horrendously worse education opportunities than you have a more difficult time obtaining.

Nobody wants to do your "shitty" jobs for you any more than they want your armies to invade their countries.

The US is, however, a consumer driven economy and the countries less able to offer high wages will continue to sop up your business while your local workers go unemployed. They'd be stupid to turn back easy money...

Guess what happens? Eventually your local workers face the choice of starvation/welfare/taking a shitty job/taking a pay cut and doing their old job.

Outsourcing is fine until you suddenly realise that the outsourced help is cheaper than the standard staff.. Then you just fire the standard staff.

The thing most of the people arguing against Mr. Schiff share in common is ignorance. They make a claim (most of which can be historically checked out for veracity) which is incorrect and then throw all their belief behind it because the alternate is the economy is going to tank in the biggest financial disaster since.. well, ever.

And like the Titanic, in trying to avoid it they will create an even bigger disaster.

Hope ya'll packed your life preservers...

Bionic Hand

dannym3141 says...

Most importantly, can you perform the final scene of "I, Robot" without making the screeching metal on metal sound?

Also campion, what percentage of people do YOU think lost more than one hand out of stupidity? Whoops, i just chainsawed a hand off accidentally whilst trying to balance it on my index finger. Perhaps i can do it with my other hand WHOOPS there goes another.

This can't be anything other than a vast minority, surely. I'd bet my arse that 99.9% of people who need a bionic arm are all equally deserving of the possibility

If you class a neglectful work injury as a "foolish" act, then you have to do the same for a soldier who doesn't follow SOP and gets limbs blown off.

(Just standing up for equality amongst people without limbs here)

Proof: People who whine about being tased are just pussies.

Fucken A. And I just learned to drive M35's, so that's one thing taken care of....

haha - Now all you need is a howitzer, some ammo and a big fuckin' truck, eh?

Now I'm all set!

Ohh, there's a whole lot of SOPs to go through on that one. If you really want to know, I can point you to the technical manual (it's not hard to understand) and it will tell you exactly what needs to be done. (do a search for misfire in the pdf document)

but basically it depends on how hot the tube is. It will get hot from constant firing, and isn't really much of a problem to worry about unless you're in some deep shit and have been firing non-stop. The thermal indicator is green, yellow and red for cold, warm and hot. I've never seen it past low warm.

So basically what happens after you pull the string and nothing happens is that you pull it three more times. If still nothing happens, you try another primer. If still nothing happens, it's the firing mechanism or the firing pin. those need to be replaced. If they do need to be replaced, you just take the powder out of the tube (considering a cold tube) and replace it and fire away.

What do you do with an arty misfire anyway -- wait 60 seconds and then open the breech and slide the shell back out?

In reply to this comment by MarineGunrock:
Ha! "Hangfire" - I haven't heard that in a while.

McCain thinks Spain is a neighbour of the U.S!

Januari says...

I truly hope he isn't that incompetent... I'm going to give him the benifit... and assume it was infact a misunderstanding...

But this also goes to why i dislike him so much. It could have been explained away as a very simply misunderstanding, and yet per their SOP... McCain and his campaign will go to any lengths to claim that they haven't made an error... and instead manage to come off as a real jackass in this country and overseas... Anyone else believe this guy has ANY hope of being better than the guy who's job he wants?...

White House Responds to Lobbyist Access-for-Donations Report

Fast-talking, eyes closed for long duration-fake blinks, off-topic asides, insincere expressions, snide tone, "I believe" and "Check on that".....yeah, pretty simple, lying asshole spokesfuck-so....What else is new??? This has been SOP for a long, long time in matters of government-....so what do we do about it????....return to the regularly programmed schedulke-like this one...so we might have a little window into the world of how a few people fuck a lot of people, and continue to do so, regardless of protest, by an emasculated media, and a pussified and inneffectual populace.

Proper Military Room Clearing / Dynamic Entry Procedure

SDGundamX says...

Wait, at around 50 seconds you see the POV guy firing what looks like live ammo at the dummy while one of his teammates is walking VERY close to the target. Is that SOP? I mean, even if the shooter's aim is infallible couldn't there be a ricochet or something that hits his mate? Heck, even leaving ricochets aside, from the vid it looks like that guy got dangerously close to walking right into the line of fire.
