Oppenheimer | Official Trailer
that stalked the whole trailer - slow burn
Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.
Avatar: The Way of Water | Official Teaser Trailer
I feel like I'm the only one who was unimpressed by this.
No story, no hook, no engagement, no emotional resonance, just a NVIDIA/AMD demo reel of graphics.
I did like the first movie. I love all of JC's movies. I still have incredibly high hopes. But just being honest, this played so slow and cold for me. In fact when I watched it the very first time I wasn't sure if this was recap from the first movie or something new.
They are obviously taking the slow burn approach to marketing here... like "hey, memberberries Avatar?"
I am anxiously awaiting something that gives me that "whoa" moment.
Democrats For Violence
This shitshow is Trump's America, and a result of his lack of leadership. You and he seem to think he's only the president of Republican led areas.
Cities were run by the same party under Obama, did we have this slow burn civil war simmering then? No, we did not.
Q) What changed? A) Trump's in charge.
Cities are almost exclusively led by Democratic mayors. Cities have high crime rates because they have high population density. Per capita crime rates aren't that different from rural areas.
Republican led areas have much higher poverty rates and way fewer services. By your logic, republican leadership leads to high poverty and an MIA government except at tax time (actually, it does historically and by design).
Edit: Downvote for the blatant lies in the description. Democrats have not promoted violence they've constantly denounced it, and are blaming Trump for the dissolving union, the division, hatred, and violence he promotes including the murder of protesters and unarmed black men.
American people are fed up of the Democrat party.
Funny Democrats say this Violence is Trumps America. Reality is that this is all in Democrat controlled area.
Democrats are a Total Fail.
Honest Trailers - Unbreakable
I love Unbreakable, but it is a very slow burn. That frustrates some people. I like the typical superhero movie as well (Spider-Man Homecoming had great pacing, but totally different).
The Predator | Official Trailer
It could be just the trailer, but it feels like it's another Avengers movie by the way everyone is acting. It doesn't seem to capture that slow burning badassery of the first one that I was hoping for, or the gritty detective style feel the second.
I really don't need another dumb and pointlessly loud movie to watch, so I hope it's just the way the trailer is cut, and that there is more to it.

Seen it.

Be sure to watch the sequel, Manderlay, if you haven't yet! I think there's also a third movie (it was meant to be a trilogy) but I haven't seen it, if it exists.

Sarzy is right. Lars is a professional troll. Every film he makes, every word he says seems to be designed to provoke and challenge your expectations. He is also a first rate director, who even at his worst, makes thoughtful, well crafted films. Even the nauseating 'Anti-Christ' was beautifully executed.
Issy and I just recently saw Dogville and loved it. It's a brutal indictment of America, and in particular, the kind of glorified small town 'heartland' America that many Americans find sacred. It's a slow burn, so don't give up in the first act.

Parrot mimicks a woman's phone conversation, ahahahaha!
Copied from Youtube, someone's interpretation of what he said:
Oh, I know actually that I, um, enjoy the slow burn and then let the squirrel burn and open with its paw yarn. Ahahahahaha. Oh, did your dad call back with the fries? 'Cause he wanted the back paw word to poke his head. Eheh. Ahahahaha. Oh, you would call back with the pot burger on his head, call, pull her out. Oh, brought out for your head, don't give him the pot further than the throwback cook. Ahahaha. About, uh, twelve Beirut pot urn! Ahahaha. Ooh, that flower bird and that bow bad. Ahahaha. Oh, they've ordered that bird. Ohh!
How to Destroy the Earth Using Anti-matter
^ ^ ^ To go out with a bang instead of a slow burn into insignificance?
How easy is it to fool UFO believers?

I'm feeling inspired to improve on this prank. Anyone have knowledge of pyrotechnics? I want to create a slow burning flare that doesn't look like a road flare. I'm thinking magnesium strips, but I guess I'll have to experiment.
Cattle mutilation and human lobotomy.
Ok - that's a bit more out of the box than I had in mind.

GO!
How easy is it to fool UFO believers?
Upvote for a clever prank and EDD's clever flattery. I recommend watching part 3, the reactions, as it demonstrates that not everyone is so easily fooled. The local authorities are repeatedly cited as (correctly) guessing that the lights are nothing more than flares attached to balloons. On the other hand, it's also fun to watch those with less critical thinking skills see what they want. The History Channel segment is really hilarious.

I experienced an earthquake today! (Science Talk Post)
Yes, I live in LA, so we get a fair share of them on occasion. I'm originally from North Carolina, so when I came out here about nine years ago I tripped out when I experienced my first earthquake in Burbank. I was looking out of my window at all the palm trees shaking, the car alarms going off, and this eerie pause of silence. Then a transformer ignited (not the "more than meets the eyes" kind)into this beautifully slow burning orb of fire. Then it ended.
Since then all the others have paled in comparison. It's good to get them, though, because that means the plates are releasing pressure. Glad you're okay, iwastheturkey.
