well, if they added a mean and nasty bassline to it to add some fabric it could work
there's been more obscure rythms rapped to in the drum&bass scene
and the reveal-rap at the end was more on the beat and showed it could be done

it's always a bit risky pranking people with huge egoes.. you'll never know how they'll react

he has terrible rythm. he is way ahead in most of his moves... maybe thats his "thing"?

hehe, this is how i doodle when i am procrastinating at the office. i can't draw, so i end up making strange things like this.
the idea here was that i also wanted to make something from christian bale's rant, but the techno ideas have already been done, so i made something else.

his voice sounds like it goes through a vocoder, but it is actually loaded into "Alchemy"'s granular engine, which chops the sound into tons of little snippets/grains that you can manipulate, here by singing a new melody. the "gimme a gimme a gimme a fucking a" in the start, is that sound.
the more normal bale scream was sent through a guitar amplifier with a spring reverb to make him even more screaming.

so then i had lots of sour

the stripper is from www.archive.org and her dancing already fit very well with the "swing" in christians screaming rythm. i did some things like reduce saturation and increase contrast on the long shots, and opposite on the close ones.. etc. fun in "Vegas".

but i still haven't done my accouting for last year

seems pritty easy to use to me, i do alot of photoshop work its intresting translating music into a image and then fixing it.
maby you could save the image of a song as a strip print it of stick it on a wall then people could photograph it and then exstract the song from it.
In the future you could do it in real time with a mobile phone by simply taking a photograph of one of the music images. Then your phone decodes it and plays back to you a song or voice recording.
this would save you having to have an active server sending people files over blue tooth. (idea coppy right westy)


i've done something similar in an art project. we had cameras watching various things, one was looking at a road intersection (for rythm) one was looking at... the audience maybe? and one was looking at a dancer (the melody). and the images was translated to sound.
so the dancer would improvise to what she heard, and the music would follow her as well.

there's also synthesizers like Cameleon 5000 that has an algorithm to extract the "sound" out of images. fun stuff with very unpredictable results

I dunno GreenBean, I visited bobby yangs site and heard some more of his music, and you're right, he does try to recapture the sound of an electric guitar on the violin. He does however have a whole band backing him up on alot of his tracks and only playes the lead part (very well mind you). What Depue does though, is play the whole song by himself. The owner of a lonley heart part is brilliant. He captures the melody and the rythm perfectly, and I don't think he is going for an electric guitar sound, but more of a unique take on the origional song. You can only really compare the two in the sense that they both play rock music, and its on the violin, and neither of these guys were the first to do that.
