Stephen Colbert: Super Reagan

cosmovitelli says...

Reagan was just the first stooge hired by the remnants of the Nixon administration. (By Bush Snr {his head of the CIA}, Donald Rumsfeld {2nd in command of the CIA} & Dick Cheney {3rd in command of the CIA}).

Literally an actor. And a 3rd rate cowboy actor at that (only for domestic & retarded audiences).

BTW Dubya was next & a gift to these fellas, none of them dumb enough to be the man out front making excuses.

They decided that a few million dead kids was fine if it swelled the family pile by 20%. Vietnam, East Timor, Iran Chile etc etc etc etc
.....Does anyone really know how much bank Cheney made from the slaughter/'rebuilding' in Iraq? A billion? 10 billion? 100 Billion? Will any American ever ask? Guess not.

In the future analysis of this time, these men will be held up worse that than Hitler, Stalin & Genghis Khan for sure. Their crimes are comparable in every way (especially the massive piles of dead kids) but without the personal trauma to explain psychosis. The US government of the last 50 years consists of the richest, fattest, most privileged men ever to live in millions of years of humanity, and yet they've committed the worst crimes of all time. Millions dead, crippled, traumatized, orphaned.
Is it their fault or the fault of those around them who do nothing or worse; cheer?

Woman thinks all postal workers are after her

Procrastinatron says...

There are countless people like this woman who dip in and out of psychosis but are without violent tendencies. In fact, there are very few crazies like this one out there who actually do have violent tendencies. This woman is probably going to torture herself with these delusions all her life, but it is very unlikely that she is ever going to cause another person harm as a result of them.

newtboy said:

OK, now if we are truly wanting to stop the insane from killing others, someone needs figure out who and where this woman is and have law enforcement commit her involuntarily. This is the kind of warning we wish others had noticed before untold numbers of insane massacres. I hope she's been contacted and had all her firearms and explosives removed. Otherwise I fear we'll be hearing about her shooting up and burning down the post office, and soon.

Woman thinks all postal workers are after her

Trancecoach says...

it's actually a common symptom of psychosis, called paranoia or a delusion of reference.

There are seriously disturbed people out there.

This is very similar to another video on VS where a woman thinks groups of people are gang-stalking her. She records people riding bikes and driving down the street and she's convinced they are all there just to circle back and forth watching her. (Link anyone?)

All-American Free-For-All

Eukelek says...

Um, ok, fascinating except for the annoying FOX commentary... gawd, how can people listen to that shit and not go insane!? Or rather, how many insane Americans/westerners are there from listening to that crap? 100 million? 200 million? Do they have to put their angle on everything? Do they have to give their opinion on everything? Do they not know that the reality of this universe is to simply take things as they are and not as one paints it? That painting your reality so much and losing what is there is synonymous to sociopath tendencies and psychosis? Its just not healthy to have ALWAYS something to say. Reuters and other outlets have many "silent" reports. Can FOXniuwws please just shut up with the redundant brainwash commentary?

bi polar-psychology of being

Engels says...

I have never heard such a bunch of codswaddle in my years of studying psychology. Aside from the outdated and wildly prejudiced anti-Freud ramble, which is apparently still 'hip' to do, the entire field of existential psychology dedicates decades of study to this approach, whereas this twit makes it sound like something you can pick up as you go along as long as you're young and think you're Diana Troy.

You can't 'just be' with someone in psychosis. It takes a lot of training and experience to even navigate to the place in consciousness of an ordinary individual, never mind that of someone having a psychotic break.

Also, the perpetual stream of images of people having 'happy moments' all over the place like a hallmark card machine gun should be the first indicator to you that this is shameless profiteering.

Young man shot after GPS error

Jerykk says...

Would the absence of guns have prevented this murder? Maybe, maybe not. The killer could have used a knife, a hammer, a lead pipe, a screw driver, a frying pan or any other potentially lethal object instead. Granted, it would have been harder, but considering that the majority of violent crimes are committed with melee weapons, it's not improbable.

The issue here is what lead to the killing and how such incidents can be avoided in the future. Banning guns isn't going to suddenly rid the world of paranoia, racism, PTSD, senility, irresponsibility, psychosis, poverty, desperation, ignorance or any of the multitude of human conditions. People who want to hurt other people will always do so unless you address the root of that desire.

As an aside, there is a practical reason for civilians to own guns. Although the gun was misused in this particular case, criminals do exist and there are many who like to rob/mug/rape/murder innocent people. If there weren't, we wouldn't need laws. All weapons, especially guns, are equalizers. They allow physically inferior people to defend themselves against physically superior people who want to abuse their superiority. They allow a single person to defend themselves against multiple assailants. Melee weapons can do the same but are far less effective due their dependence on physical prowess. To claim that guns serve no purpose is short-sighted and ignores these facts.

LSD and Magic Mushroom Drugtest. English Subtitles

bmacs27 says...

I've been on both sides of this debate. I have a history of addiction within my family, and I've seen some of the worst drugs can do, particularly escapist drugs. With regards to hallucinogens however, I think they can be a valuable experience to have. Usually people come out of it with a different perspective on themselves and their relationship with others. It's very common. There can also be dark periods, but those often have their value as well.

However, like many drugs they have their dangers. First of all, you had better be in a safe environment, and it's good idea to have a "trip sitter" (so long as they understand the place your head is headed). I've heard of too many kids thinking they can fly or getting themselves arrested, etc. Also, if you are someone predisposed to mental illness (particularly psychosis) it's a good idea to stay away. For some people one trip too many is something they never come back all the way from.

I'm not a clinical psychologist, so I apologize if I offended any schizophrenics out there. Thanks for encouraging me to learn the difference between DID and schizophrenia.

You guys trying to argue with the crazy person on his terms are so far down the rabbit hole... I'm sorry, but it's time to pull out.
It's like trying to lawyer a schizophrenic into a logical corner using the fragments of his psychosis as proofs. You can't trap him, because his magical imaginary friend will always provide an escape clause.
Just like in real life, best to not make eye contact and keep a steady pace as you walk on by.

What if you're interested in how schizophrenics think and experience the world? Should you refuse to speak to one or ask him/her questions just because his/her answers might be absurd?
ps. I think you've confused schizophrenia with DID.

Every time I argue religion, I find one more reason not to believe it. For example, until today, I'd never questioned these rules, or "consequences", as SB prefers to call them. If God made everything, then he made those consequences too, right, a fact which holds its own logical consequences for supporters. I suppose in the end none of it matters since he's already made up his mind, despite agreeing elsewhere that if I found a single inconsistency in the Bible that he'd renounce his faith.>> ^KnivesOut:

Man, I hate zoos. I've seen so many bears, big cats, apes etc, that show all the signs of psychosis, locked in a fake environment for us to gawk at. This poor animal is no exception.
