HAWP - Fallout: New Vegas
I don not even see the appeal of no kill / violent interaction run throughs, it just seems tedious and boring. I like the dynamics of stealth... and getting caught and having to outsmart or out violent your foes. You see people wanting to stealth/no kill with any game that has some sort of stealth element. New Vegas was not made for pure stealth although its open world, I mean scorpions seem to know you are around much before you can even see them on screen... and most recently in the newest Deus Ex; it was clearly made for some level of violent interaction as displayd with the boss levels, plus it was pretty linear so I do not know what the appeal is.
I mean I hope someone takes on the Thief series again in a game engine like Oblivion because I think a real stealth game would require a larger world, large open spaces and a lot of fucking patience. The last attempt was good except for the supposed open world part.
If you want to play a real Stealth game play Operation fucking Flashpoint. I dont even like war but that game was amazing but even then you probably cant stealth nonviolently to the end.
HAWP - Fallout: New Vegas
Hmm, can you beat New Vegas without killing anyone? Including creatures?
*spoilers*
I've seen speed-runs that involve very little killing, but they do kill House. If you work for house, he makes you kill the BoS. If you work for the NCR, they make you kill house. It would be ironic if working for Caesar gives you some path with no killing. edit: Caesar makes you kill BoS.
Hmm, so here's someone claiming to have done it, but they count putting House in a paralyzed state while he waits to die of an infection as "no killing". The game even gives you the same karma penalty as if you'd killed him. House even asks you to kill him immediately, making this form of death less preferable. I call BS. http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=24221124&postcount=9108

Stunning solar towers light the way
I think the one in Fallout New Vegas is based on Solar One. They have actually tried to build more of these in California, but lawsuits constantly halt their progress. The most recent attempt has been stymied by a lawsuit over the possible displacement of a desert tortoise.
I visited Solar One when I was a kid in the Boy Scouts, it was modified and became "Solar Two", then it was torn down and they took the Concept over to Spain to build Solar Tres.

Zero Punctuation: Top 5 of 2010
It wasn't much of a year for gaming. Games I enjoyed: Settlers 7, Fallout: New Vegas, and World of Warcraft: Cataclysm. I think that might be it. That sucks.
Most-anticipated game award goes to Deus Ex: Human Revolution.
The Elder Scrolls V : Skyrim
I worked on the original Fallout. I thought Fallout 3 did a really good job of bringing in the atmosphere that had been established in Fallout 1 and 2. It didn't do as good of a job in making the stats/skills matter and at giving you a wide array of options with how to tackle the storyline.
I'm in total agreement with you that Fallout 3 is a good game. New Vegas improved the translation, despite the (current, but hopefully fixed soon) errors in the game due to the options alloted to the player and making skill points matter more.
*actually, having a good amount of bugs is something Fallout was known for.>> ^shagen454:
Oh come on you guys, Fallout 3 was far better than you thought it was going to be and you know it. I was just as cynical as you guys are (and I was an original Fallout fan - meaning when each title came out I directly to my local EB and bought each one in succession, years apart and I knew no one that ever heard of the game series back then).
Fallout 3 is a good Bethesda game - that's what we're talking about here - Bethesda, not the merits of what makes a real Fallout game. With Fallout 3 they convinced me that they could make a good game and not totally screw up everything. And when I look back on Fallout 3; yes it is a gem of a game.

The only bug worth a damn is the radroach. I love that word.
Fallout New Vegas - Horrifying bug
Except they already did, on Nov. 11th. Not that it isn't funny that the game shipped with this minor bug but fixing it within 20 days is pretty good. They did release three patches within that span of time, fixing this bug in the last of those three. There were some far worse bugs involving save game corruption, but those have all been fixed, too.>> ^frijoles:

Dear Bethesda: Never fix this.
Don't worry, they won't.
