Like I said in my first comment... if you've seen ANY behind-the-scenes stuff about cooking shows, it was just clear this didn't make any sense whatsoever. The staff on those shows are like fucking vultures. It's like they don't pay for food outside of work or something.

We've been tricked into saving food! In a strange and ineffective way...

Edit: I think the viral video would have worked better if a supposed stage-hand would have made a 'covert' video how the judge and the rest are (pretending) wasteful dicks, throwing all the food away and laughing at the starving stage hands. Would have spread better and would have been more convincing.
