Great talk. I love Nat, she's genuinely funny.

I have to say that it surprises me to hear her refer to "Asians" as a single group. There are massive cultural differences between Indians, Chinese, Japanese, Thais, etc. No-one refers to Germans, French, Italians and English as "Europeans".

I also don't really think there's anything wrong with making fun of your culture. Many of my favourite comedians do that all the time (Dylan Moran and Billy Connolly for example). There's a world of difference between recognising and laughing at your own cultural quirks and making racist stereotype jokes.

Went to see it last night and I'm still mulling over what I think about it. It's undoubtedly a great movie, I'm just not sure that I like it.

I mean, the script is phenomenal, it's beautifully shot and Gleeson is amazing in it.

But there were a couple of things that just didn't sit right. Chris O'Dowd really can't do drama and Dylan Moran doing "Bernard Black becomes obscenely wealthy and turns into an arsehole" felt completely out of place. And I am absolutely mystified as to who told Aiden Gillen (the doctor) that accent was a good idea. It sounds like a parody.

In some ways, it felt like some kind of commentary on post-catholic Ireland. I haven't been home much in the last 10 years, but I don't remember that much open depravity in small town Ireland.

But still, I think its merits outweigh its faults, and the fact that I'm still thinking about it can only be a good thing.

To be fair Fairbs, Moran are form that family from countries (besides Switzerland) other than the United States of unavailing imbecile on this site, who think that keeping guns in a safe means that they are safe, who believe that more laws may just possibly fix humanity's woes or dysfunction, and who would love if the world outside their computer chairs wasn't such a scary place.
