When they keep coming in the house saying they have nothing to do. It's occurring to me that they're not pretending. Ever. I tell them to GO OUTSIDE, RUN, PLAY BALL, GET IN THE SPRINKLER, RIDE BIKES, MAKE UP GAMES, PRETEND, PLAY!!!!!

I've even bought them various balls, bats and the biggest water gun cannons I've ever seen. Really, I strapped one on and walked around the yard like Ripley approaching the Alien Queen. I just hope the kids doesn't repeat what I was saying. You know.. the "Get away from her you bitch" line. My hubby enjoyed it though

They all hang around wanting to come in play video games. They'll even mope about after I kick them back outside. I can't tell you how many times I've had to 'prime' their imaginations with a make believe scenario.

As long as they'll pick a videogame console instead of a game or a book, then I know I'm doing the right thing.

Winter will come and time for tv, videogames and warm snuggle blankets will return.

No, my husband will not give up the xbox. I guess we'll all get together for movies and/or guitar hero or something. But that's ok as a group I think. Not like the kids do when they're plugged in and zoned out alone in their rooms.

^I agree with Mink. I personally don't like how this played out. Seems kind of mob rule-ish, and that's not a good way to make decisions whether in a court of law or on a small community based website. Oh well. Add another blight to this site's reputation.

I remember something like this. I was outside a club in blackpool (the tache), it's a place for altnerative dress/music/anyone who doesn't fit into the normal "clubbing" scene. Anyway, it closes and about a hundred of these (for want of a better word) 'alternative' styled people are moping around outside chatting and whatnot. I'm amongst that crowd.

3 skinny chavs walk past, one of them sees a member of the 'alt' crowd skinning up, she's squatted on her knees, head bent over. This dude approaches asking if he can have some. I didn't hear the reply. WHAM, suddenly he takes a huge football-style kick at her head, and it connects with her face. She must have been lucky he was wearing soft shoes or something, cos nothing seemed to be wrong with her, she just sat there in surprise.

Suddenly about 50 guys are not very happy at all. They set upon him with gusto, the guy was reeling around taking blows and falling around and people were dragging him up to knock him down again. I thought "if this doesn't stop, he'll be killed" so i did perhaps the bravest/stupidest thing in my life, and stepped to the front and tried to shield him a little so he could run away. I think a few people thought i was with him and they nearly went for me but i either said the right things or got lucky.

This club occasionally has a huge amount of bikers around, not hell's angels but equivalent. He was so so so lucky they weren't there, he'd have been dead.

I wonder how they got rid of the smell in the offices. These moped engines burn gas and oil, that makes one heck of a smell...

I hear ya betamaxx. In the U.S mopeds by law mopeds are considered 50cc or less and you don't have to have a helmet or a motorcycle license to ride them. The best part of all is the insurance is super cheap compared to motorcyles and cars.

SWEET MOPEDS! mopeds are the greatest mechanical device ever. they sip fuel, look sweet, and are have minimal laws bearing down upon them. the best part of all is that you can kit them and make 'em run like horses! get rid of your nasty car right now and go buy a tomos or a puch!

A park stunt in which two girls were thrown from a roundabout powered by a moped is being investigated by police.

Officers were alerted to the incident in Crawley, West Sussex, after seeing video footage of the prank on a US-based website.
