Metal Version of Dexter Intro Theme
I actually think this version would fit the show better. One half is the unassuming mandolin, and the other half is a dark, powerful electric guitar.
"Chop The Veggies Not Your Finger" by Chef Jean Pierre
I was convinced he was going to chop his finger. There's a funny blooper video of a chef using a mandolin food slicer, as he is saying "every chef cuts themselves only once on the mandolin" then "OW!"
Nickel Creek - Reasons Why
If you guys enjoy Chris Thile (the mandolin player for Nickel Creek), I'd highly recommend his new group, Punch Brothers. Very different from NC, but UNBELIEVABLE. Worth a listen.
The Punch Brothers Pandora station is awesome too.

Tried guitars a little as well. Always wanted to play it from a very early age. It was thought it might detract or distract from my piano playing so....
I play neither now for too many years.
How long have you played? What instrument do you have?
In reply to this comment by ZappaDanMan:
I could never connect with the guitar for some reason, the dexterity is insane.. Guess I'm sticking with classical piano. Nice vid.
I've played 7, 2 is constant, piano is main. (mandolin, bass, guitar, piano, drums, accordian, flute). im clasically trained on piano for a long time... learning music is the hard part. Application of music to an instrument is easier. It's just learning the mechanics. You don't forget driving when you drive your friends car.
..yeah there are many problems with the modern teaching methods... I was lucky enough to be introduced to Suzuki method.
Ween Live - Ocean Man - from Spongebob Squarepants Movie
>> ^acidSpine:
The main riff is played on a mandolin and the song's from The Mollusk (your title suggests it was written for the movie which I don't think it was)
OK cool, didnt now that. I like it.

Paul Pena - Jet Airliner (The Original)
Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag. (show it anyway)
Been playing an acoustic guitar cover of this with @persephone on the mandolin - I honestly didn't know Steve's version was a cover. I wish I did, because the original is awesome.
3 Kids Playing El Cumbanchero Song With Guitars
Coming soon from Activision: Puerto Rican Mandolin Hero
Car Wash-Cool Hand Luke (1967)
LOL, Choggie this scene is so you. All she needed now was a modern mandolin lead 40's band w/ a polka flare as a backup.
Not Just a Pretty Face - Russell Brand plays REM
I believe that's a mandolin (or a variation thereof), which Peter Buck plays in the original.
Weezer cover Radiohead's Creep (With 200 Guitars)
Not just 200 guitars, but clarinets, violins, spoons, and a mandolin?
Beautiful hammered dulcimer music: "The Rakes of Kildare"
Agree, wonderful instrument. Mandolin player told me recently, "the only thing wrong with a hammered duclimer is....the hammers aren't big enough."
Couldn't disagree more.
Tu Vuo' Fa' L'Americano--Renato Carosone
Chuck Berry on the mandolin. I love it.

It's okay, Issykitty. I like the "comments" number to get all pumped up so people think there's a really interesting conversation going on inside and thereby watch the video to see what all the hubub is about and, maybe, vote for it. I sure am glad I got my bronze before this 2-day queue thing because I probably would've given up! Thanks for your votes.
