You're not mistaken dag. Bobby originally did Splish Splash in 1958. Read the Wikipedia article. It's short but interesting, and it even mentions Happy Days too.

I think this live version was from his short-lived variety show, which ended only because he died.

Yeah, I agree with the general dislike of WoW videos. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any other video versions of the song at the time I posted. In the name of just getting the song out there I'm going to *discard this one and hope for a better reception of the live version.

This is a great band that isn't too well known. Their songs are smart, moody, understated and their musicianship is high level. The new album should be out soon. Check them out if you can.

Uhm, brendotroy, the background about "New Speedway Boogie" is interesting and true except that this song is "Viola Lee Blues". (See the "Festival Express" DVD for a great live version of "Speedway"--one of my favorite GD tunes.)

i must say i think i like the live version better. i dont quite like the drums on the album version. the song is kind of anticlimatic. the thom solo performance may still be my favorite though.

I have the live DVD/CD and I am so used to the live version now, this was wierd. Fantastic album!
