Anti-Christian Discrimination in Arkansas

Asmo says...

Jesus Christ was apparently quite a tolerant bloke. He hung out with the whores, the beggars, the undesirables etc, he told parables about "good" people turning a blind eye to the hurting of their brother while a Samaritan turned out to be the truly good person. He said "Judge not lest ye be judged".

I don't even believe the guy was anything other than an altruistic nutter (if he existed at all) and I know his message better than you, or the douchebag in the video...

Persecution is being tossed in an arena with lions. It's being nailed to a cross. It isn't "co-existing with others and not getting the privilege of being able to make rules on how they live their lives". That's called equality, respect, common decency. You and you're ilk don't know true suffering mate.

Perhaps if you actually emulated the person you claim to worship (you know, the one that is waiting for you in the afterlife with a big fucking stick and an accounting of your years of intolerance) rather than made up your own interpretation, you'd actually be a christian worthy of the name...

And if you want to witness suffering, go minister in Africa for a few years, then get back to us about just how bad it is to be "persecuted"...

Sometime after the Jewish people rebuild their temple, a man will enter into it and claim to be God. This is what the bible refers to as the "abomination of desolation". Jesus said that when this happens, great tribulation will come upon the Earth, such as has never been before, nor ever shall be afterwards. The man is called the man of sin, and the Antichrist, who will rule the whole world.

There will be another man, described as having horns like those of a lamb, but he speaks like a dragon. He will perform great signs, even calling fire down from heaven in the sight of men, and he operates in the authority of the Antichrist, and will cause the whole world to worship him. This man is called the false prophet.

During this time, Christianity will be persecuted worldwide as the Antichrist tries to exterminate the church. The thousands of Christians being martyred in the middle east every year is just a foreshadowing of what is to come for Christians in the last days.

HitchBOT Murdered in Philadelphia

I'll put a hole right through your head!

One more incident of cops being unbelievable douchebags, and other cops allowing them to get away with it. Sickening how often this kind of thing is caught on tape, meaning it happens 10 times more often than we see at least.
Glad he's on leave at least, but a paid vacation does not really seem the appropriate outcome, here's hoping he's fired after the 'investigation', but I doubt it.
Good thing his angry threat to 'confiscate the video' was more hot air.
Crappy that even the reasonable officer tells him clearly "the longer you stay here, the more trouble you're going to get into", implying 'because the detective will make more trouble for you, he's lost it', and doesn't tell the detective that jumping out of your unmarked car and threatening to shoot someone in the head and beat them to a pulp is out of order.
If this was an 'open carry' guy who 'stood his ground', he could have shot that cop with no (legal) consequence.
Damn it, I'm going to have to get a dash cam just to protect myself from outrageous 'authority figures' now.

police officer body slams teen in cuffs

newtboy says...

One more douchebag in uniform. Is there another kind?
I'm guessing someone will say this is both justified (she kind of kicked in his direction, so of course slamming her face to the ground as hard as possible is the appropriate reaction...if you wear a uniform) and also excuse this as 'only the bad act of a single officer, not representative of all others, most of which are good people'.

I'm betting all who read this can guess exactly how much respect I have for either of those tired arguments.

Confederate Flag Parade in Georgia. Wait for it....

ChaosEngine jokingly says...

"Rape" van?!? Jesus, newt, that's a bit much... and yeah, it was cooler. They turned the damn thing into a freaking tank half the time. Also, no confederate flag painted on it and not named for a general on team slavery, therefore cooler.

I will admit that the respective token women on the A-Team weren't a patch on Daisy.

Finally, what's with this nonsense about the A-Team being bad shots? Do you have any idea how difficult it is to fire an assault rifle at someone on full auto and not accidentally hit them? Look at this picture. Any idiot can hit the black section, but it takes almost superhuman marksmanship to unload a full clip into the white section!

The A-Team are like Batman. They could easily roll in and murder the hell out of everyone, but they choose the hard path. Want more proof?

Here's Murdoch (the least combat capable of the team) hitting a tire on moving target from a chasing car.... with a handgun and in one shot! And he does it in such a way that van does an epic roll and everyone inside is still ok. That's not just good, that's god like.

And while we're recapping 80s shows, Knight Rider was also better than the Dukes. </stirring>

Also, I love that this has turned into a discussion on the A-team vs Hazzard. It's exactly as much respect as those confederate flag waving douchebags in the video deserve.

newtboy said:

Oh, you had me until your arguments WHY A-team was better.

Lets see...black 'rape' van better than a high flying, 'street legal' racing Charger? I respectfully disagree.
Better theme song, not to my ears, but both are good.
Peppard, better than Uncle Jesse, depends on the episode to me. Mr. T, OK, he's better than any single Duke character...but Murdock wasn't 1/4 the comedy relief of Roscoe P Coltrane, Enos, and Flash....and the Team had nothing to answer Daisy!
"I love it when a plan come's together", great line (I still say it all the time), but then again, so was "Luke, how come you didn't stop for me?" asked by Bo after diving in the window of the General at about 30 mph!

Then you have the military supermen that can't hit a person-ever VS the country boys that can hit moving targets from moving targets with arrows wrapped with dynamite and moonshine Molotov's! COME ON!

But all that said, 9/10 episodes of Hazard were basically the same story, Boss Hog is stealing something and the boys need to escape the crooked law to stop him. At least A-Team had more story variation, more explosions, and just as many car flips/jumps. Kind of an apple/orange thing to me. My 12 year old self was glad they were not on at the same time, no DVR back then.

Santa Ana Cops Behaving Badly

Krovven says...

No other profession has the kind of power and interaction with society that police officers do. When cops abuse that power and goof around on the job, it has major effects on peoples lives.

So yes, damn straight they need to be criticized and even generalized because this shit happens way too often and there isn't usually evidence left behind to tell the whole story.

If your fellow officers would stop acting like power hungry douchebags, then they wouldn't receive so much scrutiny from the public...you know, the people that pay your salaries.

Let's make sure this is clear...this isn't the actions of one or two officers that were having an abnormally stressful day. This was an entire department abusing their authority. Sorry, "the actions of a few" defense goes out the window when you have an entire team acting the way they were.

Since you all know I'm a cop (because I'm not afraid of admitting it), please list your occupations below so that I can find videos of people in your occupations misbehaving, so then we can all criticize and generalize about everyone in your profession.

thank you

Ah, that dreaded fake "Hahaaaaa" laugh where you're saying so many things with that one belabored sound:

"Fuck, I look like such a total dipshit asshole. Shit, I need to play this off like I'm not injured. Goddammit, I have to pretend to laugh *with* everyone else who may be laughing *at* me... Motherfuck, I'm such a douchebag."

Maybe that's what happened in his past to make him insane.
What a douchebag.

Kid's Beer Prank ends up with 2 bad cops and 1 cool one.

Your Kid's Not Susceptible to Child Abduction... Right?

lucky760 says...

I may be out of line, but this guy seems like a total douchebag even if based on this quote alone: "As I was thinking of extreme prank ideas, I had an idea where I would abduct a child, but I can’t abduct random people’s kids, so I scrapped the idea."

Still, this is an eye-opener.

TIE Fighter - Epic Anime short - Go Empire!!

ChaosEngine says...

Isn't that the same thin, angular "I'm a total douchebag" face that you see on anime good guys too?

Besides look at the poster... we have
-the officer with smarmy slicked back hair (universal sign of someone who tortures small animals)
but then
- impressively moustached man (presumably the leader)
- pensive guy looking to the left
- hot chick with cool scar.

Ignoring Blando McGeneric in the middle there, it's clear that Moustachio and Hot Scar Chick are the heroes here... defending the peace moon from the terrorist scum.

I don't know about that, most of the TIE pilots had the same thin, angular "I'm a total douchebag" face that you often see on anime bad guys. But I guess even I can feel some sympathy for someone who has to fight X-Wings in what amounts to a garbage can with a couple of ion engines and blasters strapped to it.

(not a dupe, longer and his different music)

Why is it that while TIE Fighter pilots are relatively sympathetic, Imperial officers are, without exception, douchebags?
