I think that the reasons for a siftquisition should be made clear as well. You shouldn't be able to make them for your own gratification; ie.:

would be a bad siftquisition.

It should be some relatively clear violation of the rules or the spirit of the rules; harrasment, repeated personal attacks, blanket downvotes, knowingly breaking or circumventing the rules etc. It's not a place to settle personal twists, if it can be solved by PM. It should not be a frivolous thing to do.

Optimally, this would never be used, but it's good to have as a tool.

The other two are not dupes as it is now, since dix's post is only the first part. If dix's post had contained the whole thing, either in a playlist or in one continuous video, all three of these would have been dupes.

Whether Ayers was anti-America, anti-Vietnam, or anti-whatever, he still was responsible for bombings on US soil. He even prepped a bomb for a social event at Ft Dix that detonated early killing his own terrorist partners. This is a man that was captured, served time, and then stated recently that he won't discount the possibility of doing it again. Reverend Wright has been preaching racism and anti-American conspiracies from the pulpit for the entire 20 years Obama has been a member. There is no way you can logically assume that the people Obama has surrounded himself with and have been involved in his campaign do not reflect on him in any way. He is a corrupt politician the same as any other, only with more socialist views than the conservatives everyone here seems to love to demonize constantly. Imagine if these people were associated with Bush in the same way. Apply the same skepticism here.

The latest instance is the Fort Dix Six, who were evidently encouraged to be more violent by their FBI informant:

In November, it was the informer who volunteered that he might have a source who could provide the machine guns and heavier arms the men had long been talking about.

“Shnewer expressed interest,” the complaint says.

By early this year, the complaint asserts, the informer accompanied the men to a shooting range in the Poconos, and later practiced assault maneuvers with them using paintball guns. During those exercises, the suspects mused about obtaining explosives and whether to attack a warship when it was docked in Philadelphia.

Um, the Fort Dix Six were legal immigrants from Turkey.

"A country without common language and culture is doomed"? I'm sure people were saying that about Chinatown in San Francisco, or the Pennsylvania Dutch, or the Irish who immigrated during the potato famine, or any of hundreds of other times.

I'm not a big fan of the US borders being wide-open, but America is strong enough to handle a lot of immigration without being washed under. Maybe those "liberals" have more faith in the USA than you do.

i don't feel that the death penalty is blatantly wrong in a humane society ... there are just some individuals that are not and never will be productive members of our society. sad fact.

i feel that our current prison system does very little for recidivists (current and potential ones) ... i see very little reform here like there is in canada or sweden. i wish it were different ... i am surrounded by it daily. the institution where i work was actually formed by one of the pioneers in social reform (of the insane), dorthea dix.

do i believe in the death penalty for every situation? no ... are there times when an innocent man/woman has been found guilty? yes ... but those instances are becoming less and less with our advance technology in DNA tests.

as for reform and rehabilitation ... where i work, sometimes i feel like a fish swimming upstream ... *sigh*
