I think you mean the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. (That's how the team was able to put Los Angeles back in the name without breaking their contract with Anaheim.)

I guess it's a good marketing thing (for name recognition?) to be associated with LA even though you're not actually located there. I think Anaheim is a better association because Disneyland is there and it's not quite as filthy as LA.

I make no alogies for saying that was one of the most absurd, idiotic, and downright stupid logical jumps i have ever seen. Fun fact: Walt Disney was walking through tomorrowland in Disneyland, when he saw a cowboy walk past him. He asked "Why is this man here?" to which someone replied "The break rooms are in tomorrowland, he has to go through it to get there". Walt was incredibly unhappy with this, because it broke the illusion.
