I'm impressed he didn't try to overboard "FREE", the usual crowd-pleaser, he probably didn't think he could do it for whatever reason (sick, sore throat?) so he hit it in tune and well, and only as long as he could comfortably hold it.

Still kept waiting for him to start singing about how this was just a song about the greatest anthem in the world...

Don't put so much attention on being mainstream. Sift what you like. If nobody likes it, rest assured your taste is rare. If you care that much that your stuff gets sifted, throw a couple of crowd pleasers in there to get our attention then have a ball with your weird stuff. No promises that we'll upvote it, but at least your videos will be watched.

Now here is a crowd pleaser at work. This guy definitely has roots in amateur dramatics. I love the pomp and hype that the gun-wielder surrounds himself with, including even a fake one-knee aim stance before going in for the final shot.

Is there a "drama queen" or "milking it for all it's worth" tag?

I like this song. Waaaayyy better than the others, although France's was good, it was too bland for a competition.
