You could be flexible with the passage of time, as well. Different seasons with each pass, or years later but clearly the same people. I agree someone will exploit this idea.

Indeed. I think it's because of the comfort level of the situation. It's really perfect. People acknowledge the camera but they don't feel threatened by it.

This is better than most movies I've seen lately.

The kitchen scene is absolutely riveting... Will the camera make it back out? Will they just hand it to the girl, or will they put it back on the conveyor belt? It was a cliff-hanger! The feeling of triumph at the resolution is just astounding.

I don't know what it is because it's mostly boring, but I'm nailed to my seat for every one of these videos. I find them absolutely fascinating. Maybe it's because I wish I could travel there. Actually Asimov had a similar idea, a series of conveyor belts getting progressively faster from platform to track, you hop across them to get up to speed, then board the train.

The principle is the same, that stopping and starting a huge train full of people who don't want to stop is incredibly inefficient.

Asimov's system was more for travel within a city as opposed to between cities, like an infinite metro conveyor.

Kinda stressful way to spend your first few hours, rolling around conveyor belts.

But.... I think there is still a difference between willfully harming someone/thing and killing for food. Then again, who knows what those aliens eat. Maybe we have it coming after all.
