that was my thought too... as an astro-photographer, our images start out damn near jet black.... there is a TON of information in these 18,000 fps runs that they simply aren't making easy to access... too bad

plus it was frustrating how when it got to the most exciting part, the collision of the expanding circular wave on the far side, they cut it just about every time

A friend, who travels extensively, says that Russian driving skills are, for the most part, diabolical. They don't read the road, don't drive to the conditions, drive selfishly, are reluctant to brake and, in many cases, simply drive on after a collision.

I find some of the comments here amazing. Ppl complaining because the biker braked too quickly. Well, if the moron cop behind him had been at a safe distance, then the collision would not have occurred.

It's irrelevant whether the 2nd car THINKS everything in front of the bike is clear or not, they still need to maintain a safe braking distance. Because, Oh, I don't know, maybe the 1st car can see something one the road that the 2nd car cannot. That's why the law is the way it is...

What a lovely paradigm collision.

The bridge is over the Chagres river, which supplies water to the canal. All road and rail traffic in and out of the town of Gamboa must cross that bridge.
The canal itself continues off the right of the screen. The ship should be heading roughly parallel to the rail tracks. The tanker was out of the shipping lane; so, collision with the bridge was not the only danger, it could have run aground in shallow water.
An oil spill here would flow both directions, to the Pacific and to the Caribbean. Clearly someone f@^k'd up bad.

I like how they tastefully synched the drop to a fatal collision. Classy as fuck.
