Ballet of the Bulbs
Thank you for your well thought out, critical review. I can appreciate the video much more now. >> ^EMPIRE:

Periodic Table of Videos - The Beautiful Elements (As Art)
The reason the Silicon wafer would be ruined by touching it is not the fragility. The Sodium from our sweat is highly mobile at processing temps and ruins the balanced conductivity.
Blue Cobalt glass is very cool. Exposure to the UV in sunlight brings out the blue over time.
Yes, Radon would work in a gas discharge light bulb.
Don't you hate it when some jerk-off tries to act all smarty-pants in the comments of a beautiful video?
TED - The Future of Wireless Communication: Light Bulbs
Actually you can have a connection going out on cellular at low speed, requesting Internet resources which are then routed to you and broadcast on a different medium. (LED light bulbs?) Just like Dish Network sells Internet access which uses the phone line for uplink (low speed) and the dish for download (high speed.) Also dedicated satellite Internet can work in this fashion. This is not an ideal hosting solution but it can be a killer consumer solution. Especially as uplink tech gets faster and faster on the average.
TED - The Future of Wireless Communication: Light Bulbs
Good point. So it won't be used for cell phones or internet, just for broadcasting.>> ^rkone:
1-way communication only though...

Michele Bachmann says the Darndest Things.
I don't understand how anyone could consider her a viable candidate. I'm trying to be nice to extreme conservatives. Surely they have someone brighter than this burned out bulb of a candidate...
Brilliant Cow
When I saw "brilliant", I was thinking this cow was driving around in its own little cow-cart or something. This stupid ass cow was so hungry it started licking the fuckin' gate to its enclosure, and happened to unlatch it. A light bulb went off (a dim one at that) in its head as it realized if the act was repeated, the gate magically opened. I'll give you "observant", but not "brilliant".
Dripped
How many Pollocks does it take to screw in a light bulb?
None! The old bulb still works, it's just splattered with paint.
Brutal 360 Roundhouse Kick Knockout
You can change light bulbs with a kick like that!
Bill Maher New Rules 5/6/11
Bill also called white people "crackers". RACISM!
This is silly. It was a joke. As Dennis Miller said:
"...it wouldn't hurt if everybody held their cards a little closer to their vest. Don't let 'em know they've rattled you if it hits close to home. You should be able to take that joke right in the solar plexus, get up, get that two-cycle weed-whacker engine of a brain humming, and give as good as you got. And if you get bested, go home, sharpen your verbal machete, and get ready for the next thicket...And most important, for chrissakes, laugh at it all. Because the only thing separating holy writ from complete bullshit is your perspective. It's your only weapon. Keep the safety off, don't take yourself too seriously, and remember that at the end of the day, this is just an ant farm with beepers, and it takes zero politically correct assholes to screw in a light bulb, because they are perpetually in the fucking dark."
Zero Punctuation: Portal 2
>> ^conan:
I agree with Yhatzee. Portal >> Portal 2. Portal 2 was ruined because of the cross plattform approach (the original Portal had different maps for consoles).
Whoa!? Seriously .... I don't know why, but if this is true, this is the first I've heard of this. I'm going to have to play an Xbox or PS3 version if they are different.
I also agree that this game was WAY to easy. In fact, when a friend of mine was going through the game for the first time. He didn't pick up on what to do right off the bat so he started looking around. After about 2 or 3 minutes Wheatley told them EXACTLY how to solve it. I was astonished and saddened.
I like to watch people play through the game for the first time because it is highly entertaining. Not from a point and laugh comparison standpoint, but more of a learning of how people think. You can sit back and visibly see them thinking it out. You get to see the exact second the light bulb goes off in their head. It's very interesting.
...I urge you to sit and watch someone that hasn't played it before. You won't regret it. lol
Note - Portal 1 is far more interesting to watch someone play than Portal 2. In the second game the game developers purposely made it so you could only solve a lot of puzzles one way.
Dolphin Gets Frisky With Woman in Pool
Interesting.. it's not really known if dolphins use pheromones for communication. Although, it has been suggested that males may detect female sexual receptivity using pheromone cues. Dolphins lack a sense of smell (no olfactory bulb in adults), and there is no known vomeronasal organ. So, these chemical cues would need to be picked up by the taste buds or some other sensory stucture.
The male is clearly aroused, but dolphins are so generally horny that it would be risky to assume that his behaviour is a direct result of any cues he's getting from that woman's crotch.
Killing Us Softly: Advertising's Image of Women
How many women's libbers does it take to change a light bulb? None, women's libbers don't achieve anything.
Some guy engineers his own 9/11 experiments
The government(s) in the U'S' is defective that's for sure and it does not look like there is a cure for such a terminal situation. Many great societies, most of them now gone, burnt like a light bulb giving out leaving the world to fend for itself for 1000 year stints before some revival of order. This one is close-"Not in my lifetime" is beginning to seem more and more like denial-some are already to the anger stage of this realization.
