Jimmy Carr - Gay Owls
>> ^rasch187:
Jimmy Carr is nothing compared to quality comedians like Jim Belushi and Ray Romano. Sure they're not smart or clever in any way but at least they make good wholesome humor that doesn't offend anyone.
Mediocracy seems to be the guiding light to a lot of people.
Ugh. Coulda chosen a couple of good comedians to name as examples though.

Bill Hicks and George Carlin compliment eachother
Hicks is legendary.

Parkour Noob

This is a parody for sure, and a good one, though too short. This is not a Star Wars Kid situation. This is a filmmaker with very carefully planned and rehearsed action. The whole thing is well made: the opening, choice of shooting location, angles, light, variety of tricks, editing, music etc. I'm sure each trick was filmed several times. There's no way including that fall was an accident, though it was a bad choice. It burst the parody effect and turned it into a "fail" vid.
No it fails as a parody for me because the guy is too physically uncoordinated. Chris Farley, John Belushi, etc. are big fat co-ordinated fat guys who make it look funny when they act like uncoordinated spazzes. I wouldn't trust this guy to approach me carrying a hot cup of coffee..

Dead videos fixed with the wrong video. (Sift Talk Post)
I've done it before-some Simpsons clips are now Los Simpsones und Das Simpsons-I just had to kill a vid I fixed w/ the same artist, different song, then I read the old comments and had to kill it....it made dag look silly, commenting on something that was not there.....http://www.videosift.com/video/John-Belushi-feat-Joe-Cocker
What is your function in life? (Philosophy Talk Post)
My current function in life is to instill laughter in other people. I am your "textbook" comedian who would rather make others laugh because I enjoy that more than dealing with my own unhappiness. Not that I am that truly unhappy mind you, but I say that last statement in relation to the comedy greats before me that had those types of issues, e.g. John Belushi, Chris Farley, possibly the late Richard Jeni. That's a stretch though as he had cancer, which I do not.
Regardless, I believe in the power of laughter and love to get people to laugh, so....yeah, I'd say my purpose is that.
Top/Bottom films of 2007? (Cinema Talk Post)
I was so pumped to see "300", and when I finally watched it I was pissed at my friend who strongly recommended it to me.
I haven't seen a whole lot of movies this year, including many on both of your lists. But one that I think belongs in the Bottom 10 for sure is "Underdog". I got conned into taking my little cousin to that one, and afterwards I felt like offering assisted suicide to Jim Belushi for having his career go so far down the toilet that he had to take that piece of shit role. Maybe I read too much into his performance, but to me it looked like he did NOT want to be in that celluloid disgrace for the entire time he was on film. And who could blame him?
Homer kills the Grim Reaper
"Does this mean they'll never cancel the Jim Belushi Show?"... gotta love it...
SNL - Sweaty balls
This is awful. God awful. I know its hard to be funny but this is retarted. This show needs cancelled. The days of Belushi and Martin are over...way over.
