A great list by yahtzee... Granted the last is easily agreed on...

MW3 is basically Call of Duty: Black Ops (2010)
which is basically Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009)
which is basically Call of Duty: World at War (2008)
which is basically Call of Duty: Modern Warefare (2007)
which is basically Call of Duty 3 (2006)
which is basically Call of Duty 2 (2005)

Final Fantasy better watch out! come another seven years (if they don't make any more FFs) you are going to get lapped in the number of sequels!

Note: Madden doesn't count...

Death to Pennies

zor says...

That's right there is a lobby. They spend about $200,000 per year but typically less than that. They sure get their money's worth! It's not the mint but a factory in Greeneville, TN that makes the penny blanks. This factory generates pure profits of $1,000,000 per month but typically more. It is owned by a shadowy NY financial institution and protected by the steel worker's union for good measure. Fact: the penny is here to stay. Forever.

>> ^TheFreak:

There's no mention in this video of why the penny hasn't been abolished. There must be some lobby or special interest that benefits from this and prevents the mint from doing anything about it. It can't be as simple as merely doing away with the coin.
So what can we personally do to encourage the removal of the penny? I would seriously be willing to make a reasonable ammount of effort to see this done with. Honestly though, the very thought of doing anything makes me immediately aware that I have no ability to influence this situation. And that realization is maddeningly disempowering. Knowing I can't affect something as simple and obvious as this makes me sickeningly aware of the fact that I have no power to influence the important problems in my society. Anyway, that's what I thought about while watching this video. Fuck the penny, but fuck me for having no input into the laws and decisions that affect my life.

I like these last comments for the fact that they let you know that as much as we know as humans now (remember most of this has only happened in 100 years; a pittance of time, relatively speaking). We are slowly understanding that reality has never been exactly upfront with us. The more we explore new frontiers we find that we are beholden to devices and physical laws that are not dealt with by science or religion, yet.

It shows us that we must tread lightly for now. We are a young race and we barely grasp some fundamentals of reality with physics, chemistry, and other sciences. Philosophy has been thrown around since time immoral, atleast compared to our species age.

We have a lot to learn and in many places we have yet to learn anything. Dismissing anything like what genetics may tell us, or DNA, science, religion, or even a philosophy of religion only leads to closed-minds. That is our undoing.

But, if we can come together and realize that intrinsically we are complex socially due to mental and health issues and limitations imposed on us physically from birth we can atleast see eye to eye. It is the people that cannot deal with reality and what it tells us, that will destroy us. Especially, if we grant them power--they can only lead us to a delusion that isn't supported by reality in any fashion.

At the same time I believe that if you have faith in religion you must recognize that the Universe may be more important in many ways than a book. For if what you believe is true, what better place to find truth and answers than looking at "It's" creation. Why be scared of what reality says, when it causes the greatest of our humanity to come forth when we explore it--it makes us a better species.

To me it's nature speaks louder than any religious leader can ever speak, and writes unsaid poetry better than the best poet. This is as close as I can believe in God. The Universe is amazing and it makes our squabbles over race/resource/religion (who's right...)/and rights look maddeningly simplistic in comparison.

The event/object that brings me the most satisfaction in life is to go up in the mountains and watch the Milky Way rise. I now enough about it that it NEVER fails to inspire me and humble me.

We need to destroy our ability to have childish fears.
A little dramatic, but I wish to make an emotional plea...

Ever tried to talk your parents through setting up some piece of electronics or computer setup over the phone? Maddening.

My mom is actually pretty good at being talkthru'd a computer procedure by phone. My dad's junk though, gets frustrated and pissy right away. Doesn't like being directed I guess, even though he's the one that asked for it.

Which Apocalypse Would be the Most Fun?

blankfist says...

Okay, this really irks me. They broke the line the entire clip. If you have four people in a scene, two sitting across from two, then why would you put the camera in the middle as an OTS?

Notice that in order for the two guys to look at Swaim, they both look left to right. When Swaim looks at them, he splits the camera: left to right to look at one of them and right to left to look at the other one. It's maddening to watch these videos. It messes with my brain when I see someone talking to each other yet both looking in the same direction! It's like, "Who are they talking to right now? Did a new character appear off screen they haven't shown us yet?"

Rachel Maddows about the un-debunkable lies on Fox

dystopianfuturetoday says...

What's maddening is that when you can show them direct evidence that they are wrong or fatal contradictions within their argument, they just move on to the next talking point as if the original falsehood never existed.

>> ^Stormsinger:

You can't talk to them...you can talk -at- them, but there's simply no way to have meaningful communications with people that delusional or that stupid. And the only other real possible explanation of their refusal to acknowledge reality is that they're lying, in which case they're not likely to admit it anyway...so again, no communications that mean anything.
Personally, I think only a few are lying (mostly the Republican leadership and the media figureheads)...the rest -are- just that stupid or mentally unstable. And sooner or later, the universe -will- enforce it's inevitable capital sentence against stupidity. I only hope they won't take too many of the rest of us with them.

They've figured them out. They just have too many people to effectively care and/or enforce them.

I didn't shoot this video, but I've been there, and it's like that. I especially remember the honking. It never stops. Maddening.
