Wow, thanks a lot! I can really see what you mean with them having the same style of music, they've all got that sort of clean electric guitar thing going on for the most part. These bands sound decent, but I think I really like Tomte's music better from what I've heard so far (listened to two songs by each of the bands you linked me to). I really liked the vocals on Blumfeld's "Tics" and Pohlmann's "Fluechten." Most of those bands were a little more pop than my tastes, but Virginia Jetzt! had a pretty cool rock feel to them. I noticed they have Madsen as one of their friends, a band that I plan to check out.

Another German band I recently got into is Slut, I think Schmawy or somebody sifted one of their songs on here a while back.

Yeah,
they are from my hometown Hamburg and have become quite big lately.
In the recent years a few bands emerged from Hamburg with the same style of music.
It even lead to the coining of the term "Hamburger Schule" (Hamburg School) to describe it.

Teacher Arrested for Sex - Not With Kids for Once

elysse says...

Maybe if we held education with higher regard and stopped just paying lip-service to the idea she wouldn't have to do that to make ends meet. Houston is my hometown, and I can say with experience that public school teachers are at damn-near poverty rates.

"Obama Is An Arab"-Says McCain Volunteer In Letters

bareboards says...

I am deeply disturbed at the fact that they are getting her to give her name, hometown, and attempted to get her phone number -- and then posted the video on YouTube. It seems like they are deliberately trying to get this woman inundated with hate mail.

She's ignorant and fearful and not very smart. And she doesn't deserve being hounded by every yahoo who gets mad at her and her views.

This is the tyranny of the internet.

I hope and pray this poor woman isn't being attacked. I can just imagine her not understanding why all these people are calling her and sending her hate mail. Sitting at home, clueless.

These young people should be ashamed of themselves. They could easily have bleeped out the details before posting.

Floater - King Rabbit

I just saw Floater play an acoustic show up in my hometown last week. Great set, but they didn't play this one. They did end the night with "Danny Boy," though, one of their bigger commercial successes.

Chris Rock - Black People Vs Niggaz

Throbbin says...

Sometimes Chris Rock tries too hard (Welfare Carols for instance).

But overall the skit was hilarious. I am not black, but I didn't care and didn't feel uncomfortable because Chris Rock wasn't just talking about black niggaz. I see niggaz of all colours all the time - it's not the skin colour that's important it's the celebration of ignorance.

I see people in my tiny hometown, population 2,500 in Arctic Canada acting the same way as black niggaz (we call them snow niggaz). If I was there I would be laughing away, and anyone in the black audience who got mad at me would be missing the point entirely.

German town removes all traffic signs to reduce accidents

12188 says...

AHHHHH HAHAHAHAHAH Let's implement that here in boston! Oh wait, we do, half the time the stoplights get busted and all blink red. If anyone has ever been to Boston during rush hour times that by ten in the intersections with busted lights. Hahahahahaha, man, what a crap idea. I'd love to know their definition of "busy road." Yeah this might work in my bum hometown in NH.
Oh, and "a lot more considerate [of cyclists]" is my favorite part. HAHAHAHA.

Anyway, on a more serious note, this will never be implemented in the US because we are simply different drivers, extremely different. Drivers in Germany practice driving as a solo task, they don't eat dinner, shave, and talk on cell phones while driving. In the US, driving has become somewhat of a background task. Also, German's have strict rules that they follow such as no one, and I mean no one ever passes on the right. It's just the way they are. So yeah this prolly works with them... but not here... HOOOO BOY NOT HERE.

Paintings by Adolf Hitler

Fjnbk says...

Even when Hitler was in the Fuhrerbunker, he still talked about his plans for a gigantic art museum near his hometown which would be the biggest in the world. The paintings would have been taken from dead Jews.

Puerto Rico- A Beautiful Paradise

Krupo says...

This is a documentary I found very interesting about My hometown... I think is funny when it says all the time no us passport required lol..For those who Don't know Puerto Rico is a Common wealth with USA that is why we are American Citizens and we need no passport to come to USA or Americans Come To PR,that is why says no passport required...

Because it's a *commercial for Americans without passports (i.e., 80%+ of the population) to come on down.
