Upon finishing the crib I accidentally swallowed a quantummushroom and everything went really shinyblurry. I felt a @dystopianfuturetoday, how bad would I feel tomorrow? " @arvana @Fusionaut !" Thanks to everyone else as well! :-)

The "I think I know Who Posted This" Game (Sift Talk Post)

Snuff versus non-snuff (Philosophy Talk Post)

Lawdeedaw says...

@Gwiz
Yes, but crazy people with assault riles rarely do those types of things to police officers. Yes, officers die commonly enough--but not an everyday occurrence when you include mad firepower, and veterans at that. Just like police brutality, that's an ultra rare occurence. I understand why you note what you note--and personally, we just disagree on the heart of the matter. It's a difference of opinion is all. However, you do explain things in *wiener* a way that I can appreciate; you have a better personality in regards to reaching my line of thinking.

The only true things that get under my skin are peoples comments, like the one that viewed the cop as less than human, like some ape scum that deserved to be shot and laughed at. Yes, that's assuming the worst about the vague comment, but we are adults and can logically do a case by case assessment.

On the note you made; what do you think about the second admendment and assault rifles? I believe in reasonable arms, and that does not include those. Obviously most agree--but I also view the law as more important than my own feelings. With that said, arms can be regulated, I think, within reason. *handguns versus assault rifles for example*

@bareboards

It's funny--I would have thought this sift talk would have prohibited an external link too, since it's just another way of posting snuff into the site--albeit in a round about manner. That's why I never thought of using Sift Talk as an outlet. Now that I know--thanks to you and Sagemind; I can use this format in the future. Which, although it doesn't completely change my opinion, at least helps with the limits and therefore improves my disposition of the sift.

***On a side note, and no offense to you lucky, why does the Lucky Charms' icon make me twitch with agitation? That's not normal, I don't think. That's outside of the cereal-box thinking. Sorry, I couldn't resist the pun.

Snuff versus non-snuff (Philosophy Talk Post)

Lawdeedaw says...

So, lucky, the problem started with compromising in the first place. And you're caught up in the middle.

Essentially, a lot of sifters protested and the potential for them to leave was a danger to the sift. No sifters, no sift. The number was great enough to drop the morals and values of the sift.

Then, more people did the same and once again the morals and values were sacrificed, and the slippery slope continued.

However, it stops at Lawdee, because if Lawdee goes away, then the sift remains as it always was. The power to the masses. I can't fault you or dag for that, but I can fault the masses and their festering hatred and need for the morbid cancer. Such is that hatred that it is almost equal to a political party squabble, or a religious close-mindedness. But it does make me the appreciate the good sifters, like bare, and sage, and blank, and gwiz--sometimes... Heck, me and Animals hated each other for the longest, but I probably respect him the most now.

To clarify; I protest that "newsworthy" (arbitrary) content depicting someone's murder can be viewed here. I don't think the masses should have won the fight--I think the sift should have. I do not protest that a cop's murder, which I think (arbitrarily) is "newsworthy", should be shown either.

Again, I don't blame you or anyone who determines this policy; whereas a lot of people would (Like those who blamed you for not allowing them their snuff.) I guess I am just saddened.

@Gwiz, actually, I am conflicted when I ponder whether it really was a dick-measuring contest. Or was it the fact that I always try to be fair, even by being stupid?

From Arena to Skyrim - All Elder Scrolls themes

Shepppard says...

@gwiz665

I agree with you that Morrowind was better then Oblivion.. but I think Skyrim trumps them all.

All three keep the same "Theme" (the notes played for the rising crescendo) but differently.
Morrowind has it peacefully played by flutes as it climbs, Oblivion has it played with a quicker tempo and by trumpets, and skyrim put lyrics to it, and gave it a more grand feel.

(Thanks Gwiz)

That video is a really good way of hearing how the theme evolved throughout the three games.

It would never have occurred to me that a scar could be achieved in that manner. Yet, gwiz, first thing on your mind? Surely it is experience talking. The pain, the suffering, of moving through each day with your shame emblazoned across your forehead! "I forgot to remove his pants first. How could I have forgotten????"
It's okay, sweetie. We understand. We love you anyway.

I'm not the one with a scar on my forehead. Hyuk hyuk.
