The Right Brain vs. The Left Brain
The thing is it's not a 3d model at all; it's a looped series of ambiguous frames. She's not literally spinning either way.
The Right Brain vs. The Left Brain
It's a 3d model and its spinning clock wise. All my training in Computer Animation tells me this. I am trying to get her to spin the other way though
Dancing ballerina - proof that she's going clockwise! (Wtf Talk Post)
My guess, is that because the 3D model is monochromed, to the eye, ti can completely loose all 3d shape. The brain, attempts to perceive it as 3D because it is moving. The monochrome nature allows the mind to flip it, like a negative, so the leg that is left becomes right, and so on, and you're seeing through the body (the 3d clockwise one) to see the inverse form. except, i cant make my eye do it.
Can someone who can see it go AC, confirm if my theory above, on how the AC spin appears is correct? or is it bumpkus, in which case, how DOES it appear, when going ac, if that question dosent sound like trying to describe a circle (its round)
Weatherman plays with a boob
OK business graphics aside, look at how that female 3D model is posed.... pretty provocative. I think he was baited and I think she asked for it. Why cant you see her back behind her arms? Oh because she's sticking her breasts way out... Nice tilt to the neck, is she in constant pleasure as well?
Worst motion capture EVER.
Also, besides the terrible mo-cap here, the 3d models are amazingly creepy.
Van Gogh's Starry Night transformed into into a 3d world
It's not a 3D modeling program. it's the builder from the VERY crappy "Second Life" game...or MMO or whatever they're calling this over-hyped piece of nothing.
The best thing about Second Life is their promotion department because they have better marketing and "buzz" than just about anything...yet Second Life itself is just a mess. It looks more like a beta version of some 3D game that was abandoned about 5 years ago. It's horrendous.
But don't take my word for it, go to secondlife.com and make an account and download their software...it's all free. But even free costs too much in my opinion.
Van Gogh's Starry Night transformed into into a 3d world
Anyone know what 3d modeling program this is?
Earth Can Be an Odd, Odd Place
the first images are from the halo 3 ARG ( alternat reality game) anyone who has anny 3D modeling exsperance and can't tell thay were renders is mentally deficient. it actualy realy anoyed me because it wouldent be to hard to make them photo real.
Hubble Cosmos Survey map of Dark Matter
Dark matter is believed to be weakly interacting subatomic particles referred to sometimes as Weakly Interacting Massive Particles (WIMPS).
For 3D modeling, scientists observe the light-bending effect from dark matter's gravitational force and modeling the structure necessary for those results.

My God, it's full of Jellyfish
fake... this is a widely traded 3D model of a jellyfish... rendered CGI!
(ducks and runs for cover)
How is this Helicopter flying?
It's a friggin 3D model you blasphemous widget heads.
No camera in the world being casually handheld can freeze that kind of action with absolutely NO differential effects seen between the hub of the rotor and the far end.
It's a 3D MODEL WHICH HAS BEEN TRADED ON THE INTERNET SINCE THE EARLY 1990's:
http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&q=hind+24+3d+model&gbv=2
Additionally this whole thing would take about a day to make for someone with skills. Dont let the little specular effects and such fool you.
1) get HDR 360 degree panoramic image of the sky. If you dont have one, let Vue-6 render one for you automatically.
2) use the HDR image as the background, and also as the light source
3) place a specular "Sun" light somewhere matching up with the HDR location
4) take ancient moldy Hind 3D model from your most oldest ancient CDR on your most dusty bookshelf
5) use a flavor of hind paint scheme READY TO GO:
http://www.turbosquid.com/Search/Index.cfm?FuseAction=ProcessSearch&intStartRow=1&istSearchKey=hind&intMediaType=-1
(or roll your own)
6) flop it around in the viewport, render to small movie, apply sound effects
How is this Helicopter flying?
no way is this a 3d model, no way in hell.
The angle of the blades clearly translate into the chopper's movement, my opinion its an optical effect caused by an intentionally synched camera.
How is this Helicopter flying?
I'm telling ya, I had this 3D model as early as 1992 off the great ViewPoint Datalabs CD. This is rendered. No shutter speed freezes things like this, especially with the radical velocity at the rotor tip. Rendered... rendered... rendered....
How is this Helicopter flying?
I know the answer, it's a Hind helicopter, one of the most widely traded 3D models since 1990...
Incredible 3D Printer
I have used a few of these, the stereo lithography machines are about 5-6 years old and are extremely frustrating to try to describe to anyone.
The colour print is a little dodgy tho, but it's still early days, unfortunately you have to do a fair amount of work to a normal 3d model to make it print ready.
