That song is awesome!

fun video! disco-bollywood all the way.
'$20' is the fucking track on Kala, despite the incredibly odd Pixies chorus... the new order beat is mind blowing on a huge system... mind blowing... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UOqw5i4mMr4
Oh man that was all kinds of awesome. Too bad there isn't an embed to sift!
The introduction by Quincy Jones was icing on the cake!

I'm with QM; a person should have to believe in and then leave at least five religions before they get to express atheist ideas.
Just like how we all have to eat at least five different kinds of shit before really knowing that swallowing any kind of shit is bad.
wow, what an interesting story about that great song. i know the song is at 9 votes, but please be ready to *requeue it so that it gets 10 votes

"While the released version of the song was very successful, the post-production modifications to the song by producer Phil Spector angered McCartney to the point that when he made his case in court for breaking up The Beatles as a legal entity, he cited the treatment of "The Long and Winding Road" as one of six reasons for doing so."

It's kinda late, but I left a comment after yours.

Interesting interviews.
Some guys unconsciously like a lady who would be dependent on them to be the manly provider. I'm attracted to really smart and independent ladies for whatever reason, which is maybe the other side of the spectrum. God knows my girlfriend is much smarter and independent than me, and God knows this can mean me losing my share of arguments, but I'd not have it any other way.
Thanks, I posted a comment as well.

hey, one of my first posts might fit nicely in your 9/11 playlist, http://www.videosift.com/video/Pentagon-Crash-Digital-Render-from-Purdue-University
No, I wanted to submit something else. Hasn't been sifted as far as I know.
In reply to this comment by bamdrew:
was this discarded because it was already on the sift or what?

Yeah it was an epiphany for me one day I was listening to the white album and realized that McCartney's riff and Ringo's beat are used in a lot of punk songs, especially early punk (pixies, the clash, etc.) Not to mention the lyric composition is followed by many So Cal, bands.
The Beatles were so revolutionary in that they literally defined genres for the next 10 years.
In reply to your comment:
i've never heard it described as the first punk song... early-metal is often thrown around, but i get where you're coming from; the white album version is pretty rawkus.
please do!! and send me an invite!
In reply to your comment:
hm. i should really start up that brain/mind collective soon.

you familiar with The Horrors? http://www.videosift.com/video/banned-on-mtv-the-horrors-sheena-is-a-parasite--2
not everyones cup of tea, but a fun live show nonetheless
I had heard them mentioned, but never actually saw a vid or found their music. Thanks! I wonder if they're coming to Canada any time soon. They're exactly the kind of band I would go out of my way to see. Looks like fun! Thx!
Hey man just dropping by to say you own
(lol random )
Aw yeah, it's one of those films I have to warn people about before recommending it to them - I cried my eyes out when I saw it.

such a heart breaking movie
Any story has more than one side. The hot coffee suit is a part of popular culture that came to mind. The details are not one sided, as you said. Thanks for the link.
