Brad Pitt New Orleans mayor?
Brad Pitt New Orleans mayor?
August 14th, 2009 - 7:04 pm ICT by IBNSAug 14 (IBNS) Although essaying a mayor’s role is no problem on big screen, real life is not seldom like that for Brad Pitt (45).
On Thursday morning’s NBC Today show, actor assured interviewer Ann Curry that despite a local push to have him elected mayor of the Big Easy, he doesn’t think his chances of winning are too hot.
He and Angelina Jolie have a home in New Orleans.
Pitt said: I’m running on the gay marriage, no religion, legalization and taxation of marijuana platform. I don’t have a chance.

Due to his Make It Right charity, which aims at building 150 homes by 2010 in the lower 9th Ward, the star of the upcoming flick “Inglorious Basterds” has become a local hero in a city largely destroyed by Hurricane Katrina four years ago.
Citizens have even printed up T-shirts that read “Brad Pitt for Mayor”, but the Hollywood hunk doesn’t believe the hype.
When pressed some more about running, he said tersely, “I don’t have a chance. It’s not what I do best.”
William Bradley “Brad” Pitt (born December 18, 1963) is an American actor and film producer. He has been cited as one of the world’s most attractive men and his off-screen life is widely reported.

Hell, with that platform I want him to win!
Hear hear!
WOW! The no-religion, ganja platform... I was going to get grumpy and then saw what he's running as... damned, run for president, I'll vote for ya.
Sentiment shared. I actually can't stand him as an actor, but this platform = instavote.
The Times-Picayune, July, 4, 2009
The article says Brad Pitt has not lived in New Orleans long enough to be eligible:
"Under the City Charter, mayoral candidates must be residents of New Orleans for at least five years before the date of the election. That rule dashed the apparent hopes of former local FBI chief Jim Bernazzani, who suggested last year that he might seek the office, only to learn he hadn't lived here long enough.
Pitt and his partner, actress Angelina Jolie, bought their $3.5 million French Quarter mansion in January 2007, far shy of five years before the Feb. 6, 2010, primary.
In fact, it does not appear that Pitt and Jolie are even registered to vote in New Orleans."
