This was the first song I heard by them, courtesy of a good friend of mine, and I became a fan right away. I finally got to hear it live at the San Francisco show last week, but couldn't find a good vid of it from then, so here's Blues Drive Monster off of their 2001 DVD Busters on the Planet.
Translation I did last night:
It's like there's something stuck to my glasses
No matter where I look this scenery is unchanging
Today, too, I'm bored and disappointed
What the hell sort of system
is everyone using to control their feelings?
Feeling like I was going crazy, I started crying, but I'm sane.
Morning station, I can't board the packed train
I spent my youth locked away in a room full of keys
it came sneaking out from the radio,
an electric monster
You blew away with your breath
the speaker that only whispered
Kill the hero chosen by this era right in front of me
Power station, I'll give you as many volts as you want
Blues Drive Monster
Won't you crush the melancholy world?
I'm forever waiting
If the laughing voices and footsteps
of adults furrowing their brows reverberate,
they're slowly coming closer
They're holding pistols,
aiming at your huge throat
To think that sort of thing would get to you is arrogance
Radio station, tear down the illusory wall
Blues Drive Monster
Won't you crush the melancholy world?
I'm forever waiting
Many times in my dreams I was sitting upon your shoulders
and we were running
until daybreak
