monkey controlling computer by thought alone

In a ground-breaking 5 year experiment, scientists hook up a robotic arm controlled by a computer game to a monkey's brain. In training the monkey to move the arm by 'playing' the game with a joystick. Researchers wanted to learn more about the output of the brain and the individual brain-cell signals. However the monkey was about to do something that would make history and change the lives of those involved.

The clip is taken from a fascinating BBC Horizon show called Human2.0

this one of the most jaw-dropping clips i've ever seen. just when the monkey grabs the table, it's like some ace sci-fi moment.
notice how we never see the monkey’s head with it's brain all exposed with wires sticking into it, wonder if it lived afterwards… they're making discoveries of which we'll inevitably using a lot of in the future - but i'd like to know what becomes of the monkey/s, i'm not sure about the ethics of it.

i read Sony bought the rights to something like this about a year ago, it wont be exactly the same though. perhaps PS4 will be mind controlled . this is where technology gets scary
