close escape from forest fire inferno

Amateur footage shows a car making a lucky escape from a raging forest fire in Russia's Nizhny Novgorod region. Forest fires have killed over 20 people and left thousands homeless in Central Russia. More than a thousand homes have been destroyed and over 600 hectares of forest have caught fire across the country. The situation has escalated following weeks of record breaking temperatures.
