Wii remote-controlled Hexapod Robot

Xan and Zenta are some serious players in the hexapod robotics scene. We've seen Zenta's A-pod here on the sift - Xan was a big contributor to the software side of that lovely hexapod.

Here's Xan's BlackWido (based on Zenta's mechanical designs), controlled by a Wii Remote.

This makes me want to take up the expensive hobby of robotics like nothing else. WANT!!!

I'm a huge fan of Masamune Shirow, and hexapod robots make me think of the Fuchikoma from his Ghost in the Shell manga. Of course, those were loaded with a semi-autonomous networked AI, so they could work independently of a driver... and they had wheels on their feet (which, if I ever get enough money to build a hexapod myself, I would certainly try to add to the design...).
