V838 Monocerotis revisited (interpolated photos)

Someone on YT made a morphing animation out of the five Hubble pictures of V838 Monocerotis you can see on Neatorama today. It's really well-done. The pictures were taken over 2 years starting early 2002.
Note that the motion does not reflect the expansion of the shell of gas/dust from the outburst itself, but rather, sections of the exploded structure as revealed by subsequent expanding ripples of light. The effect is called a light echo.
Still, a gorgeous effect.
