I knew he was a prick and had some nasty propaganda techniques, but I didn't know the bit about the animals.

and what's the big deal there? Topsy the elephant was killed because she went on a rampage and killed people. We still choose to exact this childish revenge on animals in this very same manner even today. Elephants and bears are commonly killed for even the slightest transgressions into the human realm in both first and third world. The simplistic demonization of Edison is so tired.

Yeah? Most folks who don't know, think him some great man for his inventions.....it was his demonization of Tesla that really showed his nature, a friend of the men who gave him money......
