The Tetons Meteor of 1972, a near miss

This is short home movie video from the Tetons filmed in the summer of 1972.
The bright fireball was later estimated to be an asteroid in the 10 to 20 meter range weighing several thousand tons. A direct hit would have resulted in explosive yield in the thousands of kilo tons of TNT. Instead, the asteroid was on a shallow trajectory and skipped harmlessly back into space.
