The Onion is genius with sarcasm.
This is hilarious and can be guilt-free laughed at because it comes from the victims themselves. Women who have been battered typically give these excuses for what happened to them. I know I did. Twice. Today, looking back, I don't feel sorry for myself for that. That was stupid and hilarious (though I'm sure it was a coping mechanism of some sort).
