Director Chan-wook Park's ("Old Boy," "Thirst" and "Stoker") film is a tale of a woman hired as a handmaiden to a Japanese heiress, but secretly she is involved in a plot to defraud her. It is inspired from the novel "Fingersmith" by Welsh writer Sarah Waters, with the setting changed from the Victorian era to Korea under Japanese colonial rule. The film has separate English subtitles for Japanese and Korean.
