The Epic Scam that Created an Iconic Rock Band

The Zombies US label, in a last ditch effort to get a hit single, releases Time of the Season, well after the Zombies broke up. This single becomes a hit. Soon, a clever (read schemey) promoter puts together a four piece band from Texas to pretend they are the real Zombies, telling the guys in the band he had the rights to do so. He has to explain away what happened to the Zombie's 5th member is missing, but eventually goes further by creating a second Zombies band to tour at the same time. Things eventually derail... but those Texas Zombies... you know them today (I'm trying to avoid spoilers about who they become).
