Officials and citizens in Hoschton, GA attempt to set a new world record. Organizers of the city’s fall festival believe they’ve exceeded the goal of putting up more than 4,000 scarecrows by September 1st. If so, they would break the world mark for the most scarecrows in one location. The current mark belongs to the Cincinnati Horticultural Society’s Flower and Farm Fest—a record of 3,311 scarecrows gathered in 2003. Not bad for a town of 1700.
